(about)
A curated matchmaking exhibition between fourteen designers and fourteen illustrators, paired to produce unique collaborative objects on display alongside their individual practices.

Syndicate took the matchmaking structure that would become a recurring feature of Limor's curatorial work and applied it for the first time at scale: fourteen designers paired with fourteen illustrators, each pair asked to produce a unique collaborative object that neither would have made alone.

The exhibition's interest was in what emerges from forced collaboration between adjacent disciplines that don't usually share working sessions. Designers tend to think in systems and constraints; illustrators tend to think in narrative and gesture. The objects that came out of the project sat between both modes - functional enough to read as designed, expressive enough to read as drawn.

Notable participants included Geffen Rafelli, Bina Katz, Shimrit Elkanati, Signor Gi, Ohad Benit, and Naama Hofman. The exhibition was hosted by SAGA TLV Gallery in Tel Aviv and is the early version of a method Limor would later expand at the Architect's House Gallery - particularly in The Elements of the City and BAUSCAPE.
