(about)
A group exhibition of illustrators researching the theme of replication along Jaffa Road, Jerusalem's central artery - one of the most layered and continuously rebuilt streets in the city.

White Noise gathered four illustrators - Neil Cohen, Gal Melnick, Avisar Goldman, and Dima Korma - around the theme of replication, taking Jaffa Road in Jerusalem as both subject and site. Few streets in the country have been built and rebuilt so many times over so many layers; the road itself is an exercise in copying, replacing, and remembering.

Each artist responded in their own visual language to the question of what gets repeated when a city renews itself, and what falls out of the loop. The exhibition treated illustration as a research method, not a decoration - a way of looking carefully at a street that is usually moved through rather than examined.

The show was developed for the OUTLINE Illustration Festival, which has been a recurring context for cross-disciplinary curatorial work between architecture, illustration, and the city.
